Begin and end your adventure at the cozy Shady Lane Cellars, where the warmth of wine country sets the perfect tone for the day. Roll down the groomed Leelanau Trail on a fat bike, soaking in the snow-dusted scenery as you make your way to local gems like Farm Club, a farm-to-table favorite. Along the way, savor handcrafted wines and indulge in a delicious lunch while surrounded by Michigan's serene winter landscapes.
This self-guided cycling tour allows you to move at your own pace, giving you time to pause and take in the beauty of the trail or linger longer at your favorite stops. The Leelanau Trail is easy to navigate, and we’ll help plan your route for a seamless experience. Need support? We’re just a call away, ready to assist with flat tires, mechanical issues, or weather-related challenges. We even pick up any wine or goodies you purchase along the way and have them waiting for you back at Shady Lane Cellars.
Covering 5.5 miles of groomed, mostly flat trail, the Winter Taste of Leelanau Winter Bike Tour is an unforgettable way to experience Michigan’s wine country in winter. With a mix of adventure, convenience, and the magic of Leelanau’s snowy vineyards, this tour is perfect for those seeking unique and memorable things to do near Traverse City this winter!
This Tour Includes:
  • Bianchi Hybrid Bike & helmet rental (bike upgrade options are available) 
  • Route planning advice provided on the morning of your tour

What's Our Cancellation Policy?
Full pre-payment required to confirm your reservation. Cancellations made 24hrs before the start of the tour are allowed for a full refund. Cancellations made after during the 24hrs before the tour are subject to a $10/person admin fee, weather related exceptions are allowed, see below.

What Happens if it Rains?
On days with light/intermittent rain, we provide rain jackets to keep you dry and comfortable. In the event of heavy rain please contact us to cancel or reschedule your tour. Weather related cancellations are accepted before 10:00am on the day of the tour for no penalty.
